This incredible estate moriage floral Nippon vase lamp comes with a matching hand painted and reticulated shade. The shade was commissioned in early to mid 20th century [cannot confirm the decade] and was beautifully painted with the same floral colors with the gold paint raised to match the gilding on the vase. The holes that were hand punched allow the light to make it appears as though the flowers are illuminated on the shade and it also appears as if the vase is lit from inside. There is no visible Nippon mark and is likely on the bottom and could be verified by taking the lamp apart which I would not attempt myself. It does have every quality of a true Nippon vase with vivid bright colors and beautiful gold gilt. The shade has some yellowing on the inside from age, as well as a few small water stains and minor creases. There two small spots on the outside of the shade where paint has chipped off but all are very hard to see. The vase has no cracks , chips or repairs. It stands 35” overall and the shade is 15” tall and 18” wide / diameter. The base to the top of the vase is 20”. The lamp works but the cord is frayed and worn from age with some copper visible where it inserts in the bottom of the vase and should be replaced by a qualified person.
