Rare Carl Thieme Dresden Hand Painted 9 Inch Tall Cherubic Female Child Bust Rare large porcelain cherubic female child bust. Hand painted with brown eyes and a white and gold gilt bonnet with hand painted flowers in red, blue, purple, and yellow with gold gilt centers. She has brown hair below the back of her bonnet and the bonnet has a green feather with a maroon bow on the side. It is tied with a blue ribbon. Her dress is brown with white flowers and trim and maroon. With yellow, purple, blue and orange floral encrustation. Gold gilt scrollwork along the base. Marked on the bottom with the Carl Thieme mark used starting in 1901. Has some wear to the gilding. There do appear to be a few very well done restorations to some of the floral encrustation. I didn’t even notice these until very close inspection. Measures approximately 6 3/4″ wide x 8 7/8″ tall. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display-ability of the piece.
