













Stunning Amrapali dancer doll that is hand painted and has a shimmering blue fabric with sequins, faux jewels, necklace, bracelets, and golden threading. The doll sits on a wood base. The height of the doll with the wood base is approximately 24 inches in size. The 24 inch tall Amrapali dolls are very rare. Amrapali was a royal courtesan of the republic of Vaishali in ancient India around 500 BC. According to a sticker on the bottom of the wood base, the registration number for the doll is A/23656/79 and the doll was made by M. The sticker explains that Amrapali – was a Court Dancer of the Great Emperor Ashoka and a beautiful lady. With Curvatured figure is now a master decorative Piece. Even with the flaws, this Amrapali doll still displays very well and the 24-inch tall Amrapali dolls rarely come up for sale.
