Hand carved, signed quail decoy statue by Wanda Smith. Wanda is a local Montana artist in Gallatin Valley and has done work with Big Sky Carvers located in Manhattan, Montana. The statue depicts a quail, most likely a Bobwhite, standing on a section of burl wood. The quail shows a wonderful carved figure with a detailed hand painted coloration and feather patterns. The bobwhite is set onto a piece of highly charactered burl wood with contrasting light brown and black colorations. The bottom of the wood is signed “Wanda Smith “. The decoy shows good condition overall with a small nick on the beak. The bird measures 12 tall x 11.5″ long by 5.25 wide and sits with a piece burl to make the overall piece 13″ tall x 13 wide x 9 deep. If you have questions please ask.
