Lalique originally offered these gorgeous bottles in four heights: 3.5″, 5.3″, 6.5″, and 8.5″. This is the 5.3 inches tall size. It is a beautiful bottle. Lalique’s legendary quality is immediately evident. This bottle is two sided with the same design and decorations on both sides. It is frosted 24% lead crystal which makes it heavy. The center of the bottle is hand painted with black enamel dots. They contrast nicely with the frosted crystal. Lalique’s items are handcrafted in the Alsace region of France where Lalique’s workshops are located. These bottles were designed by René Lalique in 1931. They were originally made of glass. Lalique curtailed operations during WWII because their facilities were near the German border and in occupied France. René died in 1945 as the war was ending. His son Marc then took over the business. He upgraded the glass they were using from 12% lead oxide demi crystal to 24% full lead crystal. This change made the crystal much brighter with sparkle, more transparent, and much heavier. This bottle is signed Lalique France in capital letters which an older signature style. This tells us that it was made shortly after WWII. There is no damage. Comes without the original Lalique box. However, we can provide a new gift box as shown in our last photogrraph.
