Hand-Painted Burnished Pottery Pig Bank Tonalá, Mexico. Mexico Pottery Pig Bank is the largest I have encountered. The pottery is hand burnished, creating a sheen on the clay and is expertly painted in the. Probably created during the 1960s-90s. The substantial visual impact of this large piece outweighs the minor damage that has occurred over its history (see photos). Dimensions: 13 1/4″ tall (at handle) x 16″ long. Condition: No cracks or repairs. Side with doves and cactus has some scratches and the other side has two small chips of clay missing. The hole on the underside has chipping where coins were removed.
