This delightful piece is hand-carved from lindenwood and hand-painted by Folk Art Artisan-Dan Grunst from Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1996. PLEASE NOTE: Dan Grunst is a noted woodcarver whose sculpture is displayed in collections worldwide including the Museum of American Folk Art in New York. His style is based on the centuries old Scandinavian flat plane carving technique. Realistic in detail, the whimsical Belsnickel/Santa extends his open hands and totes a “I Believe in Santa” sign. He is outfitted in a long, red coat and stocking cap with white trim and features an aged patina finish. The bottom of the figurine is SIGNED AND DATED BY DAN GRUNST. Measurements: Belsnickel/Santa with Sign: 14 inches tall. Santa: 11 inches tall. 3.25 inches wide. 5.5 inches deep. The retired figurine is in mint condition. Please see all photos for condition.
